This talk explores how seascapes meet at the port of Tema in Ghana in ways that entangle national histories as to tie them in a knot and obstruct the writing of history.
Annette Skovsted Hansen is Associate Professor of Japanese and Global History at Aarhus University, Denmark, since 2005. She recieved a BA in Japanese Studies at the University of Copenhagen, MA in History from Columbia University (1992), an ABD in International Education Development from Teachers College, Columbia University (1995) and a PhD from University of Copenhagen (2001). Before returning to academia, she worked at the United Nations Headquarters, 1991-1998. Her current research on focuses on Japan in the global networks engendered by Japanese.
